realmDRAMA.com: You know you like it

I’m sure we all have a bit of experience with WOW Drama.  It’s a well-known, yet not quite too well understood phenomenon.  Our friends over at RealmDrama.com have taken up the banner to track and document such drama for all of us to enjoy.

While enjoying their site, I began to think about a few things related to our guild.  WOW-Drama is often ridiculous, frustrating, and even maddening.  Even with our guild of real-life friends we occasionally have a bit of drama.  Perhaps our drama stems from knowing each other in real life?  Maybe we’re too comfortable with each other.  Sometimes this may lead one to say something that isn’t intended to be offensive but none the less comes across that way.  I know I’ve been guilty of that myself.  Sometimes we may take our success or failure in-game too seriously we know we’ll see our buddies the next day?

Anyway…for the most part our goal of maintaining a “Friends Only” guild has prevented the drama that is common in most guilds.  Therefore I’m excited to follow RealmDrama.com when I want to get my drama fix.

You should check it out too and let us know what you think!

Gooey, GUI, UI – An Introduction

Posted on : 11-28-2009 | By : Appock | In : UI/Add-Ons

Blizzard has given us a fantastic game that is highly engrossing.  It appeals to many different people on many different levels.  At one point during the last 5 years I have played the game, I found myself getting highly engrossed in customizing the User Interface (UI).  So much so that I was spending more time editing my UI than I was actually playing the game.  The Application Progamming Interface (API) that Blizzard has built into the game is very powerful, allowing users to mold and make sense of the overwhelming amount of data that is contained within WoW.

The Default UI - Usable but Very Limited

The Default UI - Gets the job done, but can it be better?

“Gooey, GUI, UI” will deal with how to take advantage of the API by configuring add-ons that thousands of users have created for use in order to organize the view into the World of Warcraft.  The first couple posts will start off exploring the pros and cons of changing your UI, describing how to install an add-on on your computer and within WoW, where to get add-ons and ways to manage add-ons, and the real focus will be on the different types of add-ons and introduce what is possible for your UI.

While the video above is about a cancelled WOW account, you may very well experience similar levels of frustration obtaining the pets in this installment of Heavy Petting.  This time we will be talking about the pets that drop randomly.  If you’ve been diligently following this series of guides so far, after working this one to completion you’ll gain 11 additional pets for a grand total of 47 pets.  But before we get into the good stuff we need to talk about some simple math… more specifically, probability.

Season 7 Holy Paladin PVP Guide

It is often said that the best way to learn something is to teach it.  By teaching something, one has to really understand it.  I decided that I’d put together this guide, and I’ve really benefitted from it…so I hope you do too.

Here is what I’ve put together this season while Bear and I have tried to take SansPants to 2v2 Arena awesomeness.  I’ll discuss the following aspects of my play style and strategy:

  • Talents and Glyphs
  • Tools of the Trade
  • Gearing
  • Techniques
  • Key bindings

When I was an aspiring new PVP Paladin, I would have loved to have someone explain these factors to me.  This guide is intended for the new PVP Paladin.  That being said, I’m no Gladiator either, so I’m still learning and refining.  So to you experts out there, I’d love to hear from ya!  Leave a comment and tell me what I’ve missed.
